Do you know a teen who is struggling with school work, having trouble focusing, or can’t seem to find a way to stop the negative thoughts? Many, if not all of us, know a few overwhelmed teens. Let’s face it, being a teen is stressful!
I live with two teens and I see clearly that today’s teens are constantly bombarded with information from email, Youtube, various social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok, video games, and more. Most of this trains their brain not to focus or pay attention.
Teaching teens mindfulness will help them learn how to manage stress, how to control their emotions, focus on the task at hand, and develop a positive outlook on life. Teens who practice mindfulness and meditation develop an understanding of how their brain works, which in turn, helps them to live happier and healthier lives.
I know it seems ironic to encourage more screen time for our teens who already seem to spend most of their time with their eyes on a screen. However, since technology is not going away, it’s a good idea to support our teens by sharing with them apps that will help them cope with the stresses of being a teenager in today’s society.
Check out this article Best Meditation Apps For Teens from Popsugar.com. It will undoubtedly help you support and provide suggestions to the teens in your life. Whether your teen is a beginner or an experienced meditator, the right app for your teen can be found in the article.
