FAQs

What does it look like a real storytime?

A typical 15–20 minute session:

  1. Read the story (engagement prompt included)

  2. Scripted mini-lesson (discussion questions included)

  3. Game or printable activity + optional take-home sheet

Each story includes a fully scripted mini-lesson (15–20 minutes), so no expertise is required—any librarian, aide, or volunteer can facilitate.

Yes. Each session is short and structured (15–20 minutes) with simple prompts, visuals, and participation moments that help children stay engaged. The stories and activities are designed to reduce “wandering,” calling out, and side conversations by keeping kids actively involved.

That’s common in public programming. We include simple family-friendly take-home pages and conversation starters so caregivers can re-engage naturally—without you needing to “manage” adults. You can also share the at-home activity as a gentle cue: “Try this together later today.”

Story-centered, trauma-informed activities can be adapted across abilities and languages. Many librarians use the posters and visual supports to help children follow along, and the lessons work well for universal groups and small-group support.

Digital downloads via QR code (activity sheets, posters, family at-home activities) are included, so families can use them at home as well as in the library.

If funding is limited, you’re not alone. Libraries and schools often fund Labyrinth Adventures through:

  • Community partners or Friends groups

  • PTO/PTA support

  • Literacy or SEL grant funds

Yes. The short, predictable structure helps children know what’s coming next (story → quick discussion → simple activity), which supports smoother transitions in storytime, afterschool groups, and family programs.
